NEW BERN - Paula Marie Bangle, 59, of the Carolina Pines community, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2012, peacefully at her home after a long and hard-fought battle against breast cancer. A warm and caring person, Paula never met a stranger and always greeted friends and family with a smile and a hug. Always willing to help others, Paula had a special love for people, a quality that was evident in her devotion to her husband, children, grandchildren and as a caregiver for the elderly. When she wasn't taking care of others, she loved working outdoors and enjoyed her membership in the Carolina Pines Garden Club and attending Cherry Point United Methodist Church, where she was a faithful member.
Paula is survived by her husband of 42 years, Robert "Bob" Bangle of New Bern; daughter, Melanie Vaccaro and husband, Daniel, of Morehead City; son, Jamie Bangle of Chicago, Ill.; two grandchildren, Dakota Vaccaro and Mia Vaccaro; stepmother, Kathleen Vest of Mullins, W.Va.; sister, Carla Milor of Middletown, Md.; her four-legged companion, Molly; as well as a host of friends.
Family and friends are invited to share in a service of commemoration to Paula's life which will be 2:00 o'clock on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Cherry Point United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Woods, pastor, officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall at the church.
