NEW BERN - Sarah Stanley Armond, 90, of 2600 Old Cherry Point Road, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at the Riverpoint Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.She was a lifetime member of Clinton Chapel AME Zion Church where she served as a member of the Usher Board, Senior Choir No. 2, and Stewardess Board No. 2.
Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Clinton Chapel AME Zion Church with the Rev. Dr. Jace L. Cox, pastor, officiating.
She is survived by one son, George Armond Jr. of New Bern; five grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.
The family will be receiving friends and guests at the residence of her son, 309 Fisher Creek Road, New Bern.
Viewing will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2012, at Rivers-Morgan Funeral Home, Inc., 701 West St., New Bern and on Saturday at the church one hour prior to the service.
