VANCEBORO - Mr. William A. Haddock, 79, passed away Friday, April 11, 2014.
The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 11 am in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the Epworth United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Haddock, a native of Craven County had lived in Vanceboro all his life. He graduated from Farm Life High School. He was employed with New Bern Oil and Fertilizer Company (Royster) for 30 years, retiring in 1987. Mr. Haddock was a member of the Vanceboro Masonic Lodge #433 A.F. and A.M., the Scottish Rites, New Bern Bodies, Sudan Temple, New Bern. He served as master of the Lodge in 1992, and was a member of the Woodmen of the World for 50 years. He was a Cub Scout Master of Pack #58 in Vanceboro. He was also a member of the Pamlico Emmaus Community, Epworth United Methodist Church, and for 16 years, served as a Lay member of the NC Conference United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lillian "Ann" Haddock; sons, Rev. William A. "Bill" Haddock and wife, Jean, of Wilmington, NC and Bruce Haddock of Morehead City, NC and Jeff Haddock and wife, Judy, of Vanceboro, NC and Jimmy Haddock and wife, Claudia, of Germany; grandchildren, Gabrielle Ann, Will, Jennifer, Kevin, Stevie, and Daniel Haddock; three great grandchildren, Aengus, Henry, and Amy; and a sister, Faye H. Ormond of Vanceboro, NC.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Vanceboro, NC.
