NEW BERN - William Lebert Dickerson, 61, of 2709 New Bern Ave., died Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.He was employed as an independent brick mason contractor.
His funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2012, at Oscar's Memorial Chapel with Verna Daye officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
He is survived by five sons, David Brown, Baron Brown, DeMond Humphrey, Marlon Brown, all of New Bern and Taquan Barrett of Wilmington; three brothers, Joel Dickerson of Silver Springs, Md., Ronald Berry of New Bern and Clinton Berry of Brooklyn, N.Y.; six sisters, Sherry Ann Berry, Sandra Lynn Smith, Patricia Cannon and Angela Smith, all of New Bern, Verna Mills of Durham, and Phyllis Berry of New Bern; and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family will be receiving friends at the residence of Ronnie and Twyla Berry, 2710 New Bern Ave. Viewing hours are Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the mortuary.
