New Bern - Pearl Yates White, 88, formerly of Pollocksville, died Monday, February 24, 2014 at CarolinaEast Medical Center.
She served as Postmaster in Pollocksville for over 30 years before retiring. She loved playing bingo and eating dessert first. Her favorite vacation spot was at White Lake. She adored her dog, Belle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherwood H. White.
Surviving are two sons, Gene White and wife, Andrea of Delaware, and Alex White and wife, Kaye of New Bern; one daughter, Pamela White DuVal; and husband, Joe Cadorette of New Bern; daughter-in-law, Sarah White of Tennessee; one sister, Lillie Y. Humphrey of Pollocksville; eight grandchildren, Sherrie Ammons, Byron White, Deanna DuVal-Grimm, Ben White, Nathan White, Evan White, Brandon Cadorette and Joey Cadorette; and several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, at Pollock-Best Funeral Home Chapel with Angel Lorton officiating. Burial will follow at Pollocksville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Pollock-Best Funeral Home, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
