Barry Ryan Mobley, 30, unexpectedly passed on April 13, 2014, in West Virginia leaving his family and friends who loved him so much. Barry was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gus & Patricia Kite, Garland Mobley, Sr. and Rachel Neumann, and his uncle, C. B. Moore.
Barry is survived by his loving wife of almost two years, Jonda Davis Mobley; his parents, Garland (Boo) Mobley Jr. and Flora Kite Mobley of Vanceboro, NC; his sister, Jenna Mobley; his stepchildren, Kirsten, Kelsey, and Kyle Waybright; and step grandchild, Artlyn; his father-in-law, John Davis; his mother-in-law, Sue Mack; and step father-in-law, Demi Mack; sisters-in-law, Terese Ewing and husband, Kemp, and Jessica Wilson; brother-in-law, Demi Owen Mack; nieces, Courtney and Emma Ewing; nephews, Chris, Andrew and Nic Wilson. Also surviving Uncle Mike Kite, Aunt Angie Kite, Aunt Wanda Elks, Uncle John and Aunt Sondra Hoover, his cousins he grew up with, Ashley Moore Dunn (husband David), Valarie Kite Tripp, (husband, Kenneth), Chad Braxton, (wife, Jo-Lynne, and Sydney and Parker), all of Vanceboro and Carli Braxton Sutton, (husband, James, and Seth) of Cove City. Also, not to be forgotten, Rocky, his special dog and friend.
Barry was born on July 14, 1983 in New Bern, NC. He grew up in Vanceboro, attending Vanceboro Farm Life Elementary, West Craven Middle School, and graduating from West Craven High School in 2001. He attended East Carolina University for a short time. He loved playing sports-baseball, football, wrestling, and he loved racing. Barry, like all of the other grandchildren, worked in the family business, Kite's Supermarket, through his childhood. This is where he learned how to treat people and use his personal charm on everyone he met. He worked at Gold's Gym in New Bern, NC for a number of years as a personal trainer. He loved this kind of work so much and all of the people he met through this job. He wanted everyone to be healthy and fit. He later moved with his wife to West Virginia where Jonda's family resides. Barry tried his hand at being a car salesman at River City Subaru, but just a couple of weeks before his death went back to doing what he loved the most, working at the gym as a personal trainer. This gym was Power Up in Teays Valley, WV where he worked for Taylor Stillpass, a wonderful friend. We are so happy that Barry made this change when he did.
Barry will be remembered as a loving husband, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend to all of us. He loved working out, being on his crazy diets, being in bodybuilding competitions, playing and watching sports, going to the pool and beach, traveling with his wife and friends, and loving life. Barry was very competitive and wanted to be successful in all his endeavors; he wanted to please everyone. He had a heart of gold. We will miss him so much.
