NEW BERN - Elizabeth J. Ermish Riley, 82, of New Bern, died peacefully at her home on April 17, 2014, after a lifetime battle with Scleroderma. Betty was born in Queens, New York the daughter of Elizabeth and Gustave Ermish. She was a resident of Fairfield Harbour for 26 years and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
She was one of the founders of the Fairfield Harbour Hospital Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Marden Riley, a son, Owen Andrew Riley, sister, Gae Wood, brothers, Everett, Richard and Warren.
Betty is survived by her son Christopher Riley (Carmen) and grandchildren Christopher Robert and Jacqueline, all of Colorado Springs, Colo.; her sister, Joan Ermish of Southbury, Conn.; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 1 p.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Schleroderma Foundation, 300 Rosewood Drive, Suite 105, Danvers, MA 01923.
