La Rue Wilder Kelly, 92, passed away on Sunday. July 27, 2014. She was born on February 9, 1922, the daughter of the late Darius Earl Wilder and Erma Narron Wilder. She was predeceased by Clairborne M. Kelly, and her sister, Mrs. Harlan "Frankie" Boyles. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Ray Albritton of Wilmington, son, Dan Ray and wife Audrey Moore Ray of Clinton; grandson Stephen Albritton and wife Rebecca; great grandsons, Ayden, Beau, and Chance of Charlotte, and grandson Cole Ray of Raleigh. She is also survived by her sister, Mrs. Gladerine Dean of Southern Pines, two nieces, and five nephews.

Mrs. Kelly was a long-time resident of Raleigh and New Bern. She was an avid golfer and was the first president of the Ladies Golf Association at Fairfield Harbour in New Bern. She was the ladies club champion for several years. She set a low score record at the course that prevailed for many years, and won her last ladies club championship at age 69.
She encouraged the love and care of pets, and asked that memorials be made in lieu of flowers, to the local SPCA's or a
