NEW BERN - Frances Tingle Cayton, 80, died March 16, 2010, at CarolinaEast Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her husband, Elwood E. Cayton Sr., and son, Elwood E. Cayton Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Zaytoun and husband Kelly of Manteo; her son, Jeff Cayton of Cape Carteret and fiancee Kim Northcraft of New Bern; three grandchildren, Hayli Thornhill and husband Tad of Raleigh, Holli Kagan and husband Aran of New Bern, and Jayme Cayton of Cape Carteret; and one great-grandchild, Noah Kagan; her sister, Pauline Waters of New Bern; and brother, Jack Tingle of Mesa, Ariz.; sisters-in-law, Opal Cayton and Frances Tingle; and brother-in-law, A.C. Cayton.

She was a lifelong member of Broad Street Christian Church and leaves a loving and caring church family as well as many family and dear friends. She will be greatly missed and will remain in our hearts forever.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 19, at Broad Street Christian Church. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Cotten Funeral Home and other times at the Cayton residence.

The Cayton family would like to thank her many friends and family for their loving care and support during her illness.
