Mary Louise Tripp Guion


NEW BERN - Mary Louise Tripp Guion died Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at Two Rivers HealthCare Neuse, New Bern.

She was a native of the Goose Creek Community of Pamlico County and resided in New Bern for more than 60 years. She was a former choir member of St. Stephen Free Will Baptist Church.

Her funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011, at St. Stephen FWB Church, 802 Pavie Ave., New Bern, with the Rev. Fred Wallace, Jr., officiating and the Rev. Harry Woolford eulogizing. Burial will follow in New Bern National Cemetery.

She is survived by her son, William T. Guion, Jr. of New Bern; three daughters, Janis Guion Furman of Teaneck, N.J., Goldie Elizabeth Guion of Santa Anna, Calif., and Barbara Guion James of Goldsboro, N.C.; two brothers, Johnnie Edward Tripp of Bayboro and Charlie Franklin Tripp of Yemassee, S.C; three sisters, Mamie L. Wilson of Brooklyn, N.Y., Rosa Randall of New Haven, Conn., and Lillie B. Furguson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the residence of William and Shirley Guion, 3009 Roanoke Avenue. Viewing will be at Oscar's Mortuary Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and at the church an hour prior to the service. Online condolences are accepted at oscarsmortuary.
