NEW BERN - Eddie Lee Williams Jr., 73, died Friday, May 11, 2012, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.
He was a native of Bridgeton and was formerly employed as a truck driver.
His funeral will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2012, at Oscar's Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Leonard Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Annie Williams of New Bern; one son, Eddie Lee Williams III of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters, Shirley Williams of Madison, Tenn., and Dollie Hodges of Nashville, Tenn.; three stepchildren, Veronica Canady and Tonya Williams, both of New Bern, and Sandra Williams of Nashville, Tenn.; five brothers, Lonnie Williams of Bridgeton, Silas Watson, Moses Watson, Elijah Watson, all of Vanceboro, and George Watson of New York; three sisters, Roberta Williams of Manhattan, N.Y., Barbara J. Williams of New Bern, Sally M. Watson of Beaufort, S.C.; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends at the residence, 2972 Brunswick Ave, New Bern.
Viewing hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
