VANCEBORO - Mrs. Helen Cox Anderson, 84, died Thursday, December 13, 2012, at her home.

The funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel in Vanceboro by the Rev. Larry Small, the Rev. Robert Worthington and the Rev. Billy Hacker. Burial will follow in the Anderson Family Cemetery, at the home place.

Mrs. Anderson was a native and lifelong resident of the Vanceboro community of Craven County. A homemaker, she worked on the farm and at Vera's Diner for a number of years. She attended the Tabernacle Holiness Church for many years, and was an active church worker and visitor of the sick. For the past several years she had attended Vanceboro Free Will Holiness Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Anderson in 1993; an infant child; mother, Ida Mae Wilson; father, Clayton Cox; a brother, Leslie Cox; and sisters, Peggy Heath and Jo Ann Bellamy.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Kay Morris and husband, Linwood and Glenda Faye Lewis and husband, Allen, all of Vanceboro; grandchildren, Travis L. Morris, Troy L. Morris and wife Tammy, Stacey A. Lewis and wife Jennifer, Johnathan A. Lewis, Alesia Kay Midgette and husband Johnny, and Kimberly L. Edmundson and husband Stephen; great-grandchildren, George Tyler Morris, Matthew Travis Morris, Zachary Lewis, Chelsea Midgette, Emily Midgette, Montana Morris, and Savannah Lewis; and a sister, Linda B. McKeel and husband, Sherwood, of Scuffleton.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Vanceboro.
