Elizabeth Edgerton Taylor

BACHELOR - Elizabeth Edgerton Taylor, 100, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Carteret General Hospital.

Her funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Oak Grove United Methodist Church with the pastor, the Rev. Benjamin Sims officiating assisted by the Rev. Dr. Billy Seate. Interment was private.

Mrs. Taylor was born July 26, 1912, in Raleigh to Elmer Otis Edgerton and Susie Lee Ives Edgerton. She was a 1930 graduate of Hugh Morrison High School in Raleigh and attended Hardbargers Business College. She was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by her daughters, Jean Taylor Cochran of Raleigh, Claudia Taylor Lewis and husband Chuck of Bachelor, and Susan Taylor Turner and husband Carl of Bachelor; grandchildren, Beth Levi, David Britton, Anna Wilkins, Roberta Padgett, Lisa Kittrell, Scott Lewis, Carl Turner Jr., and Claude Turner; as well as 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Emmett Claude Taylor; sisters, Jean Edgerton Hobby, Hazel Edgerton and Dorothy Edgerton; along with brothers, E.O. Edgerton Jr. and James Monroe Edgerton, preceded her death.

Memorial donations may be made to Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 3070 Adams Creek Road, Havelock NC 28532.
