Benjamin Solomon Mosely


COLUMBUS, Ga. - Benjamin Solomon Mosely, 75, of 6530 Highridge Drive, died Feb. 9, 2013, at Columbus Hospice.

He was a native of the Whortonsville Community of Pamlico County and a graduate of Pamlico County Training School. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 32 years earning numerous medals including the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross w/Palm, Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal w/two Bronze Loops, Air Force Commendation Medal w/two Oak Leaf Clusters retiring as senior master sergeant.

His funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at West Street Christian Church, 721 West St., New Bern, with the Rev. R. E. Midgette Sr. officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at New Bern Memorial Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Victoria Barbara Mosely of Columbus, Ga.; two daughters, Kate Mosely of Sacramento, Calif. and Bertha Mosely of Columbus, Ga.; two brothers, Frank B. Moseley Jr. of Fairfield, Calif. and Horace Lee Moseley of Baltimore, Md.; two sisters, Delories Fields of New Bern and Shirley Jarmond of Romulus, N.Y.; five grandchildren.

Viewing hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Oscar's Mortuary.
