VANCEBORO - Mrs. Gloria Jean Dixon Craft Herrera, age 65, a resident of 205 Arnold Street, Vanceboro, NC 28586 died Tuesday February 12, 2013, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, NC.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the Kite Family Cemetery officiated by Pastor Mary Owens.

Mrs. Herrera was born in Craven County on March 1, 1947, daughter of the late Maebell Kite Dixon and Nathan Bennie Dixon. In July of 1996, she married Gregorio Oliva Herrera who survives. She retired as a physical therapist assistant at Pitt County Memorial Hospital and was a member of the New Life Ministries Church.

In addition to her husband, Gregorio of the home, she is survived by her daughter, Debbie Craft; her son, Major Timmy Craft and wife Sharon all of Vanceboro; her brother, William Dixon and wife Sheila of Vanceboro; her sister, Mary Owens and husband Bill of Vanceboro; three step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Nathan Delwood Dixon.

The family will receive friends 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2013, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at New Life Ministries Church, 8226 Main Street, Vanceboro, NC.
