VANCEBORO - Mr. Billy V. "Bill" Morris Sr., 70, died Monday, March 4, 2013.

The funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in Juniper Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Morris, a native of Craven County, was a lifelong resident of the Piney Neck community, and a graduate of Farm Life High School. He was the owner and operator of Morris One Stop and Logging Company, retiring in 2008. He was a member of Juniper Chapel FWB Church and served as Trustee.

Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his parents, James Earl and Annette Wiggins Morris; brother, Elmer E. "Bum" Morris; and a nephew, Keith Earl Morris.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Connie G. Morris; son, Billy V. Morris and wife, Kathy, of Vanceboro; and grandsons, Caleb and Ethan Morris; a special young lady, Emily Smith.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 – 8 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home, Vanceboro.
