Obituary

GRANTSBORO - Steve Taylor Dixon, 82, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at home.

He was a farmer, an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also a charter member of Pamlico County Rescue Squad and Grantsboro-Silverhill VFD as well as a member of Neuse River Council of Government for many years and a member for more than 30 years of Bay River Soil & Water Conservation.

He is survived by his son, William "Red Bug" T. Dixon; two daughters, Joyce D. Ray and Peggy D. Padrick; one sister, Sallie D. Bennett; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, March 18, at Grantsboro cemetery with the Rev. Dale Clark officiating.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday afternoon at Bryant Funeral Home and other times at the home, 431 Hwy 306 N. Grantsboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Pamlico County Hospice, 11146 NC Hwy 55, Grantsboro, NC 28529.
