Obituary

MOREHEAD CITY - King Brown, 76, of 1507 Avery Street, died on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at his residence.

He was educated in the Carteret County School System and was a lifelong member of St. Stephens A.M.E. Zion Church. He was employed in the construction industry as a tile layer and a member of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by four daughters, Lisa Taylor and Valeria Godette, both of Morehead City, Angela Compton of Burlington and Consonya Murray of Beaufort; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

His funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at St. Stephens A.M.E. Zion Church with the Rev. William T. Snow, pastor, officiating. Interment with military honors will immediately follow the

service in Gethsemane Memorial Park. Viewing will be held on Saturday at the Church one hour prior to the service.
