GREENSBORO - William "Billy" Lewis Davis, 65, of 2607 Chantilly Place, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at Moses G. Cone Hospital, Greensboro.
He was a 1965 graduate of Queen Street High School, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a 1974 graduate of North Carolina A&T College. He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years prior to retirement.
His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at Mount Zion M.B. Church, 405 Cedar St., Beaufort, with the Rev. C.O. Donald officiating. Burial will follow in Oceanview Cemetery with military honors.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Moore Davis of the home; two sons, William T. Davis and Britton M. Davis of the home; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, at Oscar's Mortuary.
The family will receive friends at the Frazier Homestead, 545 Temples Point Road, Havelock, and at 1 p.m. Thursday at Mount Zion Church.
