NEWBERRY — Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Allen "Dit" Harmon will be conducted on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Werts Cemetery.
Mrs. Harmon passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital. Born in Asheville, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Nina Green and the late Henry Harris. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Mrs. Harmon was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Harmon, Sr.; children, Mary E. Mathis, Mildred E. Sims, Henry H. Harmon, Jimmy L. Harmon and Margaret Harmon.
Mrs. Harmon was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are daughters, Barbara J. Mathis of Newberry, SC; Kathy D. Harmon of Columbia, SC; Eugenia Thompson of Columbia, SC; Meta M. Harmon of Newberry, SC; Doris Price (Kevin) of Pomaria, SC; sons, James A. Harmon (Mary) of Prosperity, SC; Sherman O. Harmon (Susan) of Newberry, SC; Eugene Harmon, II of Denver, Colorado; Robert Jones of Newberry, SC; devoted grandson, James A. Mathis of the home; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, two sons-in-law, other relatives and friends.
