Joseph V. Bedenbaugh

LITTLE MOUNTAIN — Mr. Joseph V. Bedenbaugh, 90, was born on Dec. 23, 1922, in Little Mountain. He was the son of the late Mr. Robert O'Neal Bedenbaugh and the late Mrs. Mary Wise Bedenbaugh. On Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, he departed his earthly life at the C.M. Tucker Stone Veteran Building Center in Columbia.

Virgle grew up in Little Mountain. He attended the public schools of Newberry County. After completing his education in Newberry County, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served during the World War II. After completing in the Army, he was honorably discharged. He studied Brick Masonry at Booker T. Washington High School and later worked with a company laying bricks. He received the Lord in his life and join Mount Hebron A.M.E Church in Prosperity at an early age.

He was predeceased by his wife, Beatrice M. Bedenbaugh, one son, Clarence Bedenbaugh and 10 siblings.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories, one loving and devoted daughter, Barbara Bedenbaugh Owens of Columbia; three grandson, Marcus A. Owens, Anthony D. Owens and Ronald A Williams, eight great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Alice B. Stephens of Little Mountain; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Ida Mae Gallman (Miller) of Columbia; one daughter-in-law, Diane N. Bedenbaugh of Detroit, Mich. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.

Funeral service and burial will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013 at Mount Hebron A.M.E Church in Prosperity.
