Adlai Sylvester Griffin

Adlai Sylvester "Fesque" Griffin 59 of 63 Shady Lane in Jenkinsville entered into the arms of Jesus on Monday, June 30, 2014 at Palmetto Health Richland of Columbia.

He was born in Laurens on July 21, 1954 to the late Jessie and Helen Irby Griffin.

He was a member of Rocky Springs Baptist Church of Laurens.

Fesque was educated in the Laurens County School System.

He served in the United States National Guard and he was employed with West Fraizer and Kneeces Car Care of Newberry.

Griffin was a faithful member of The Brothers United Social Club and Old Skool Riders of Newberry.

Fesque was known for cooking, barbecuing and frying skins.

He was preceded in heaven by his sister, Margaret Griffin Pulley.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories his wife, Alice Ruff of the home; eight children, Shequettias Ruff and Larry Sherod Robinson of the home, Sharunn Foggie of Columbia, Tyrone (Alicia) Griffin, Thalmus (Alisha) Griffin and Christopher Griffin all of Atlanta Ga.; Terrell McFall and Bradly Epps (Amber) all Newberry; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one sister, Ruby Griffin Dial of Clinton; mother-in-law, Lula Mae Crumblin of Jenkinsville; ten brothers-in-law and 10 sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He made an impact on people's lives and developed a special friendship with Wayne Kneeces.

The family will receive friends at 63 Shady Lane in Jenkinsville.

Funeral service and burial will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, 2014 at Rocky Springs Baptist Church (5097 Hwy 221 South, Laurens, SC 29360). You may send online condolences to the family at
