NEWBERRY — Janie Ina Davis Warren of Newberry, 89, joined her beloved family in heaven on Monday, Aug. 25.
She was the widow of Nathan Burton (N.B.) Warren, Jr.
Mrs. Warren was born Sept. 6, 1924, in Newberry, a daughter of the late Munson P. and Janie Thomasson Davis.

Her nursing career began as a member of the U.S. Cadet Nursing Corps from 1942 to 1945 at Camp Croft. When World War II ended, she was caring for wounded soldiers in Washington, D.C., but she soon returned home because she missed her family.
Mrs. Warren then cared for patients at Newberry County Memorial Hospital, where she retired after 32 years as a general duty nurse and supervisor. Even in her retirement, she continued to work part-time in the hospital pharmacy.
