Memorial services for Donald N. Hamilton, age 94, were held at St. James Episcopal Church in Painesville.
The son of Harry K. and Bonnie (Lee) Hamilton was born Nov. 17, 1917, in Dayton and passed away Nov. 17, 2011, at his residence in Harlington, Texas.
Mr. Hamilton, a former 34-year resident of Concord Township, retired from the former Diamond-Shamrock Company and relocated to Texas in 1989.
During World War II, he served with the American Field Service, driving ambulance in North Africa and Italy. Donald, a soft spoken, unassuming, compassionate Christian, inventor, private pilot and musician.
Survivors are his three sons, Donald Newton Hamilton Jr. of Arizona, Harry David Hamilton of Texas and William Billy Hamilton; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence (Sander) Hamilton; parents; brother, Richard King Hamilton; and sister, Virginia Hamilton Parish.
Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
