Schneider, William J. "Bill"*  
William J. "Bill" Schneider, age 78, passed away peacefully at his home on Nov. 20, 2014, in Willoughby. Bill was born Dec. 12, 1935, in East Cleveland. Bill was a former English and Physical Education teacher in the Euclid and Richmond Heights School systems; he also coached Varsity Football and Baseball at Richmond Heights. He was a High School Football Official for 35 years. He held various jobs after retiring from teaching in 1988. He was an avid sports fan, playing basketball weekly at the Browning Senior Center. Survivors are his wife, Martha (Nee Kaiser); children, Sue (Jim) Hlavacek, Scott (Belinda), Brian (Carolina) And Carrie; grandchildren, Darren, Ashley, Abby, Alivia, Elena and Santiago. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 37932 Euclid Ave., in Willoughby. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at Brickman Bros. Funeral Home, 37433 Euclid Ave., in Willoughby. Burial will be in Knollwood Cemetery in Mayfield Hts. Scott II, Thomas B.*  
Private family services were held for Thomas B. Scott II, age 86, of Willowick. Mr. Scott passed away Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby. Born Sept. 4, 1928, in Cleveland, he had been a Lake County resident for over 60 years, living in Mentor and Willowick. He loved sports, especially the Buckeyes and Mentor's Schools sports and he was a member of the Class of 1946 New Philadelphia High School Quakers and a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy. Thomas had been employed by Kaiser Permanente as a X-ray tech. Thomas was the beloved husband of 63 years to Regina M. (nee Gaspard) Scott; loving father of Thomas M. Scott, Mark P. (Debbie) Scott, Nora H. (Mike) Arnott, Blair A. Scott, Jennifer A. (Bassam) Abdulrahim and Daniel K. Scott; cherished grandfather of Danielle, Christopher, Jamie, Nathaniel, Matthew and Emilie; great-grandfather of five; and uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas B. and Helen (nee Hughes) Scott; and sister, Margaret Pugh. Scragg, Samuel S.*  
Samuel S. Scragg Samuel S. Scragg, age 88, of Willoughby, passed away October 30, 2014, of natural causes. He was born April 16, 1926, in Sharon, PA. Mr. Scragg was a long-term Sergeant for the Lake County Sheriff's Department and a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Army. Loving father of Raymond (Ingrid) Scragg; dear grandfather of Sam D. Scragg; brother of Shirley Stern; he also leaves other loving family. Sam's beloved wife Helen Scragg predeceased him in 1999. A private graveside service was held in Gates Mills North Cemetery. Dorothy (nee Buehner) Seuffert 86 of Wickliffe, died Nov. 16, 2014. She was born Feb. 10, 1928 in Cleveland and lived in Wickliffe for 58 years. She is the beloved mother of Ronald (Sherry), Barbara (Carmen) Pinzone, Karen (Jeff) Egan, and Jean Seymour; grandmother of Michael, Ryan, Jenelle, Richard, Lyndsay, Nicholas, Kyle, Brandon and Eric; great grandmother of Christopher, Anthony, Micah, Massimo, Logan, Mateo, Sienna, Faith, and Julie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil J. in 2006; and her siblings, Mary Louise Kalister, Irene Brugman, and Frank Buehner. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday Nov. 22 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 29850 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. Burial will take place at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon. Shalek, Arthur J.*  
Arthur J. Shalek, 85, of Claridon Twp. died Nov. 19, 2014 at Blossom Hill Care Center in Huntsburg Twp. Born Feb. 1, 1929 in Cleveland Hts. to Victor and Helen (nee Durecky) Shalek, he had been a long time area resident. Art served in the US Army from 1946 to 1948. Art married Mary Tomecheck on April 16, 1955 in Cleveland. He worked until retirement with Ohio Bell, was a member of the Communications Workers of America and served as Scoutmaster for BSA Troop 284 for many years. Arthur served as the Secretary/Treasurer for the Adah Gun Club in PA for many years. He was an outdoors man, spending time on the water and in the mountains but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife Mary of Claridon Twp.; son, Mark (Lorene) Shalek of Claridon Twp; daughter, Debbie Zuzek of Claridon Twp.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Celebration of Life will be held 12 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday Nov. 22, 2014 at St. Mary Parish Cafeteria 401 North Street Chardon, OH. Joseph P. "Joey" Sivik, age 59, of Richmond Hts. formerly of Euclid, passed away Nov. 17, 2014, at his home. He was born Sept. 8, 1955, in Cleveland. Joey attended Mary Mavec School for 45 years. He was a true classic. We were blessed to have him in our lives where he brought light and joy to all he met. We learned so much from him about what it means to be truly caring and thoughtful. Survivors are his sister, Susan (Phil) Yanchar; nephews and niece, Jake (Georgia), Matt and Elena; great niece and nephew, Helena and Gordon; roommate of 12 years to Peter Dybzinski and Walter Jolly; wonderful cousin of many and friend to all he met. "Charlie" to all his "Angels". He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Helen (nee Focareto). Funeral Service Monday, Nov. 24, at 10:00 a.m. at Brickman Bros. Funeral services for Philip M. Smith, age 70, will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, at the First Baptist Church 10801 Johnnycake Ridge Painesville. Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville. A Masonic Service will be held Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mentor resident, Philip was born on November 20, 1943, in Erie, PA. He passed away on Nov. 12, 2014, at Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland He served in the US Air Force. He retired in 2007 after 40 yrs. as a machinist and CNC computer programmer for the Lincoln Electric Company. He was a member of Temple Lodge F & AM #28. Mr. Smith attended the First Baptist Church and enjoyed bowling, volleyball, playing pool and cards. He always took pride in the appearance of his yard. He is survived by his wife, Beverly K. (Scott) Smith, whom he married on August 9, 1969, son, Todd Smith; daughters, Kristi (Rob) Estep and Karrie (Scott) Luzier; grandchildren, Brianna and Samantha Estep, Nathan and Nora Luzier; sisters, Karen (Gary) Brooks, Kim (Jim) Miller. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Evelyn (Nelson) Smith; and sister, Cheryl Henretty. Interment will be in Mentor Cemetery. Snodgrass, Pauline E.*  
Mrs. Pauline E. Snodgrass, 92 of Painesville Twp., passed away November 18, 2014 at Governor's Pointe in Mentor. She was born August 30, 1922 in Cleveland to James E. and Kate (Vendeland) Davis. Mrs. Snodgrass was a member of Painesville Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed exercising at the Painesville Senior Center. She and her late husband Lane had traveled to 49 states and enjoyed square dancing. She retired from the Riverside Local Schools as Secretary of Madison Avenue School. She is survived by her son Lane Jr. (Vivian) of Maryland and daughter Jane (Joe) Zanghi of Painesville Twp.; her grandchildren, Aimee (Jason) Emming, Kevin (Shelley) Snodgrass, Lainie (Jose) Rodriguez; and great grandchildren, Jaimee Emming, Alexa and Antonio Rodriguez and Alexandra Snodgrass. Mrs. Snodgrass was preceded in death by her husband Lane whom she was married to for 57 years; and her sister Leona Kolling. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 to Noon Saturday at the Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Avenue (opposite Lake Erie College), Painesville. Mrs. Somerville passed away Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at Hospice House of the Western Reserve in Cleveland, with her loving family at her side. Born Sept. 13, 1943, in Monaca, Penn., she had been a resident of Lake County for 52 years, living in Kirtland. Sandra enjoyed life, loved traveling and shopping and vacations in West Virginia. She was for beloved wife of 54 years to Daniel A. Somerville; loving mother of Chris (Linda) Somerville, Mike (Kathy) Somerville, Kim Sapp and Stephen Somerville; mother-in-law of Pamela Somerville; cherished grandmother of Jeremy, Tina, Angie, Jessica, Tara and Amanda; great-grandmother of Chelsea, Caleb, Scarlet, Kylie, Jacob, Alexis and Madelyn; sister of Geraldine Mayhue and Sarah Alice Ault; dear friend of Marion Huff, Alice Durst, Clarence and Brenda Harless; and aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sarah Alice (nee Hitchman) Clear; grandparents, Richard and Ethel Hitchman; son-in-law, Stephen Sapp; and siblings, Dick Clear, Ethel Clear, Doris Jean Wilmont, Jerry Clear and Jim Clear. Stanton Pike, Carol*  
Carol Stanton Pike, age 65, a lifelong Mentor resident, passed away Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at Governor's Pointe in Mentor. She was born Dec. 3, 1948, in Painesville. Carol worked at Progressive Insurance Company, Smythe Cramer Realty and Prudential Select Properties. She attended Villa Angela High School and Lake Erie College. She was a member of St. John Vianney Parish and a former member of the Lake County and the Ohio Realtor's Association. Carol deeply cherished the special moments of joy, happiness and laughter she shared with her children. She loved spending time with her brothers, sisters and their families and was thankful for the many people who touched her life during her fight with cancer. Survivors are her children, Elizabeth "Libby" (Matthew Sharkey) Pike and Gregory S. (Elysa) Pike Jr.; and her twin grandsons, Bradley and Ryan Pike. She is also survived by her siblings, Frank (Stacie) Stanton Jr., Sharon (Michael Sr.) Hayes and Mary Ellen (Allen) Weaver; and many other nieces, nephews and other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis F. Stanton Sr. and Rose Mary Stanton; and her brother, Pete M. Stanton Sr. The family will receive friends to celebrate Carol's life from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, and again on Tuesday from 9 to10 a.m. at the St. John Vianney Church 7575 Bellflower Rd., Mentor.
