Gallatin, Susan Louise*  
Susan Louise Gallatin, age 69, of Chagrin Falls, passed away suddenly at home April 23, 2015. She was the loving mother of Krista Weisberg and Matthew Gallatin; loving grandmother of Paige Weisberg; dear aunt of Derek Hess and Lania Yinger. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Stroud-Lawrence Funeral Home, 95 S. Franklin St., Chagrin Falls. Memorial service 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the Federated Church, 76 Bell St., Chagrin Falls, with a reception to follow. Interment private at Mentor Cemetery. Gates Jr., V. Dale*  
V. Dale Gates, Jr., 85, of Garrettsville, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at his residence, with his loving family at his side. He was born January 15, 1930 in Garrettsville to Vernon Dale and Bertha (Andersen) Gates Sr. Dale served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a contractor and remodeled homes throughout northeastern Ohio. He was a pilot, a hot air balloon pilot and the founder of the Cleveland Parachute Center. Dale loved to fish, especially in Canada and was a true "outdoorsman." He enjoyed traveling, was an avid reader and loved to play the stock market. Dale is survived by his devoted wife, Ruth (Irwin) Gates of Garrettsville; children, Cathy Gates of Middlefield, Chris (Mark) Lawson of Florida, Bob (Karen) Gates of Parkman, Maria (Kevin) Lupardus of West Virginia, Mike Gates of Garrettsville and Esther Gates of New Hampshire; brother, Richard (Beverly) Gates of Parkman; grandchildren, Jennifer, Danessa, Brianna, Adrian, Matthew, Morgan, Ashley, Landon, Tyler, Destiny and Jordan; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandchildren, James and Linsey. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231, where a remembrance service will be held at 7 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions in Dale's name be made to "Garrettsville Strong." Gibbs, James Alexander*  
James Alexander Gibbs, 92, of Mentor, OH passed away April 21, 2015 at The Westlake Village Skilled Nursing in Westlake. He was born December 6, 1922 in Lakewood, OH. James was a graduate of Parma Schaff High School and Cleveland State University. A U.S. Army WWII veteran, he proudly served in the Army Air Corps. Mr. Gibbs was also an employee and part time consultant with Gould Electronics (formerly Clevite Corp.) for over 52 years. He is survived by his son James (Nancy) Gibbs of Lakewood, Ohio. Grandchildren, Jason Gibbs of Olmsted Twp. and Heather (Tim) Owen of Brunswick; step daughters, Linda (Carl) Kurz of Katy, TX, Cheryl (Michael) Getzy of Concord, Step-sister, Marsha (Floyd) Mulford of Springhill, FL., Step sister in law, Carol Brainard of Parker, CO, and their families. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Renee E. Gibbs; son, Peter Sansom Gibbs; father, Arthur & Kay Gibbs; mother, Anna & Ben Brainard; step-brother, John Brainard. A celebration of James' life will be held from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 2nd at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. Private family inurnment will be held at Mentor Cemetery.
