Holtz Jr., James J.*  
James J. Holtz, Jr., 76, of Mentor, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2015, after a long illness, surrounded by his family. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 7, 1938, to James Holtz, Sr. and Frieda (Hamrich) Holtz. He moved to Euclid where he grew up and graduated from Euclid H.S., Miami University and West Virginia University. He taught school at Berea and Midpark High Schools as well as Newark State College in New Jersey. He was employed at Fluid Controls in Mentor as well as Kichler Lighting in Independence. He was an avid reader, especially of history, loved high school football and had a keen interest in trains and railroading. He is survived by his wife, Carol (Miller) Holtz; children, James III, David (Janelle), Bryan (Danielle), Kevin (Megan), and Matthew (Toyomi); grandchildren, Joshua, Madelyn, Sam, Noah, Oliver, Charlie, Ellie, Ben, Noemi and Joe (deceased); and sister, Patricia (Holtz) Scott of Dover, Delaware. A Memorial Service will be held at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Rd., Mentor on Friday, May 8, at 12 p.m. with greeting of family one hour before at the church. Burial will be at Western Reserve Gardens in Chesterland. Contributions can be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. John's in lieu of flowers. Arrangements entrusted to the Monreal Funeral Home.

Hribar (Slemc), Angela*  
A Mass of Christian Burial for Angela Hribar (nee Slemc), 90, of Painesville Township will be held 12:30 p.m. Saturday May 2, 2015 at St. Vitus Church, 6019 Lausche Ave. Cleveland, followed by burial in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon Ohio. Mrs. Hribar passed away Saturday, April 25 at the Golden Living Nursing Home in Kirtland. Born in Brnik, Slovenia, she was a resident of Willoughby Hills for 34 years before moving to Painesville Township 14 years ago. Angela was a member of the Slovenska Pristava Pensioners and KSKJ Christ the King Lodge 226. She loved gardening and always had a beautiful array of flowers in front of her house, baking Slovenian pastries and playing balinca. She is survived by her daughters Rose Longo and Elizabeth (Robert) Hahn; grandchildren Jennifer (Wes) Suever, Michael Longo, Nicole (Jason) Auer, Robert Louis and Rachel Hahn; great-grandchildren Abigail Auer and Mason Suever; siblings Milka Odar (Miro deceased) and Vidko Slemc (Melena). She was preceded in death by her husband Louis and siblings Felix (Hilda) and Francelj Slemc. Family will receive friends Friday 4 to 8 p.m. at the Zevnik-Cosic Funeral Home 28890 Chardon Road, Willoughby Hills.

Lyall F. Huntoon, Jr. Lyall F. Huntoon, Jr., 75, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015. Lyall was born in Chardon on October 15, 1939, and graduated from Chardon High School. He was a former volunteer fireman in Geauga County. Memorial services for Lyall will be held at Pilgrim Christian Church, 202 S. Hambden St., Chardon OH 44024 on April 29 at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family are welcome to attend.

Janeczek, Curtis L.*  
Curtis L. Janeczek, 61, of Madison, passed away April 28, 2015 at his residence. He was born June 20, 1953 in Hazleton, PA. He was appointed to West Point in 1971 – the same year he graduated from Madison High School. In 1976, he graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor's of Science; and, in 1981 he graduated from The Ohio State University with his MD. He was a published author of two medically-related books. He is preceded in death by his father Stephen, and survived by his mother, Irene of Madison; brother, Stephen of Geneva, sister, Denise (Ralf Caswell) of Perry; nieces, Nicole (Caswell) of Greenville, NC and Cassandra (Caswell) of Perry; and nephew, Robert (Caswell) of Perry. Curtis enjoyed gardening and Cleveland sports. He was an avid bowler and was on the West Point bowling team. Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Reverend Father Sean Donnelly, at Immaculate Conception Church, 2846 Hubbard Rd, Madison Ohio 44057, at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2015. Private family burial will take place at a later date. The Behm Family Funeral Home of Madison is assisting the Janeczek family during this time of need. Johnson, Esther (Parsons)*  
Esther (nee, Parsons) Johnson, 99 of Chardon passed away April 25, 2015 at Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland. The second of five daughters, born February 22, 1916 in Chardon to Hartley and Edna Laura (nee, Hitchcock) Parsons, she had been a lifelong Chardon resident. Esther graduated from Chardon High School Class of 1934. She attended and graduated from Mount Union College in Alliance, in 1938 with a degree in teaching. She married Ernest E. Johnson, Jr., whom she met at Mount Union on January 1, 1938. She was a substitute teacher for a number of years and then was the bookkeeper for Bostwick's Department Store in Chardon for many years. She was the organist of the Chardon United Methodist Church for 35 years. Esther enjoyed life, music, golf and her family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards with her many friends. She will be sorely missed. She is survived by her children, Sally J. (Gilbert) Kostelec of Chardon and Dorothy (David) Shultz of Menomonee Falls, WI; grandchildren, Amy and Leigh Carson, Jeffrey (Shari), John (Heather) and Joseph (Nikki) Shultz; and seven great-grandchildren Zachary, Thomas and Daniel Shultz, Hannah and Jack Shultz and Brady and Gavin Shultz. She is also survived by her sister, Priscilla Eldredge of Chardon. Esther was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Ernest E. Johnson, Jr.; and her sisters Dorothy Knapp, Louise Segoine and Jeanne Bostwick. A Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m. May 23, 2015 at the Chardon United Methodist Church, 515 North Street Chardon, OH 44024. A private family burial will take place at Chardon Municipal Cemetery.
