Alicia ""Chris"" Anderson, 63, passed away Feb. 1, 2014, at Hospice House in Cleveland.
Born May 8, 1950, in Charleston, W.Va., Chris was a lifelong resident of Madison.
Chris was a graduate of Madison Memorial High School and a 1973 graduate of The Ohio State University
with a bachelor of arts in education. At Ohio State, she lettered in varsity basketball in 1968 and field hockey in 1972. She played on the First Team All-American 1980 ASA National Tournament Class A Slow Pitch.
Chris was a teacher for the Madison Local Schools, where she taught for 30 years before retiring in 2003. She coached high school volleyball and basketball.
She was an avid gardener, and was well-known for her homemade jellies and pickles.
Survivors are her sisters, Jane (Karl) Wise of Baileys Harbor, Wis., and Andrea (Dan) O'Neal of Grove City; nephews, Erik, Joel, Casey and Ross; and her beloved dog, Tootsie.
There will be a Celebration of Life from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at the Potti Funeral Home, 2726 Hubbard Road, Madison.
