Andrew V. Phillips, 89, a resident of Willowick for 61 years, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014 in Wickliffe.
He was born Feb. 12, 1925 in Lemont Furnace, Pa. He had lived in East Cleveland before moving to Willowick.
Andrew was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force
. In World War II
, he served as a gunner on a B-25 bomber. He was a graduate of Case Western Reserve University.
Andrew was Director of Management Information Systems at Euclid, Inc. He retired in 1984 after 34 years of service.
He was a member of VFW
Post 1500, Willoughby. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Church for 56 years, acting as an usher and server at funeral masses. He volunteered for 15 years as an AARP tax consultant, and was treasurer of Euclid Inc. Retirees Association.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Ross) Phillips; sons, Ron, Richard (Rita); daughters, Margaret, Michelle (Dan) O'Connor, Mary (Dale) Tarasco; grandchildren, Alecia (Ryan) Ingram, Angela (Luke Cahalan, fiance), Alexa Tarasco, Daniel O'Connor; great-granddaughter, Issabella Ingram; brother-in-law John Russ; and brother Robert (Joan).
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph, Jack, James; sisters, Catherine, Patricia, Eleanor; and parents, Andrew and Helen.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2014 at St. Mary Madgalene Church, 32114 Vine St., Willowick.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Orlando-Donsante Funeral Home, 29550 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon Township.
In lieu of flowers. contributions may be made to St. Mary Magdalene Church.
