Audrey Jansen(1934 - 2013)

Audrey Jansen, 79, a lifelong Mentor resident, passed away Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, peacefully in the arms of her daughter.
She was born June 10, 1934, in Mentor.
Mrs. Jansen was a homemaker. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many.
Mrs. Jansen got married July 16, 1955, to Robert Sigurd Jansen and together they bought their home on Jackson Street in Mentor, where they lived their entire married life, joyfully and madly in love. She attended Ohio University and loved playing cards with her girlfriends, boating with her family and friends at Fairport Harbor Yacht Club where she was a former member. She also loved watching movies with her grandson, Brian, cooking with her granddaughters, writing, listening to music, gardening, antique collecting and having coffee with her loving sisters. Mrs. Jansen was a strong, courageous and free spirited woman always ahead of her time.
Survivors are her children, Amy Caunter and Robert Jansen Jr., both of Mentor; grandchildren, Brian (Lindsey Miller) Caunter, Elise (Danilo) Sanchez and Katie and Sarah Jansen; and great grandchildren, Florence and Sigurd. She is also survived by her sisters, Charlene (Edward) Sullivan of Perry and Corrine Fix of Painesville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert ""Sig"" Jansen; son, Charles ""Chip"" Jansen; and her parents, Charles and Sophie Babic.
Funeral service will be noon Friday at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Interment will be at Mentor Cemetery, Mentor.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Jansen to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
