Carole J. (Peelman) Pierce, 76, of Kirtland for the past 53 years and formerly of Mentor, went home to be with Jesus Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at home surrounded by her daughters and closest friends.
She was born Nov. 24, 1936, in Kirtland.
Mrs. Pierce was a retired hostess from the Bob Evans Route 306 Restaurant in Mentor, where she worked for seven years. Prior to that, she retired as a custodian from the Kirtland Schools system, where she had worked for more than 20 years.
Carole's greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading and scrapbooking, in which she made treasured memory albums for her children.
Survivors include her children, Thomas (Kimberly) Pierce of Tennessee, Suzanne (Anthony) Sassano of Mentor and Dianne (Phillip) Brown of Savannah, Mo., four grandchildren, Gabrielle and Anthony Sassano, and Hannah and Brandon Pierce; her cat, Cookie; and best friends, Kathy Lemons and Grandma Annie Adams.
Carole was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Pierce; parents, Robert and Margaret Peelman; sister, Lillian Patzke; and brother, Robert Peelman.
Interment was in South Kirtland Cemetery, Kirtland.
