Charles Daniel "Danny" Armstrong, of Bradenton, Fla., and formerly of Mentor, passed away peacefully Aug. 26, 2013, surrounded by loved ones at his home.
Mr. Armstrong was born April 3, 1944, in Painesville. His passion for his family, scuba diving, fishing, and boating was unparalleled. He loved to entertain his family and friends, and was always optimistic, happy, fun-loving and full of life.
He served in the U.S. Navy
in the 1960s, and he will be missed sorely by all.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Armstrong; sister, Shirley Warren, daughters, Jill (Daniel Ahrens) Armstrong of Iowa City, Ia., and Wendy (Michael Penney) Armstrong of Nokomis, Fla.; stepdaughter, Michelle Armstrong; grandchildren, Alana and Alex Armstrong-Penney; and stepgrandchildren, Andrew and Lindy Ahrens, and Danton.
His sister, Linda Woodard; mother, Dorothy Armstrong; and father, Charles Armstrong preceded him in death.
Celebration of life shall be open to friends and family held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at Jigg's Landing Pavilion, 6106 63rd St., E. Bradenton, Fla.
