Charles H. Grossman, 85, of Mount Perry, died suddenly at 10:03 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2013, at Fairfield Medical Center.
Charles was born Feb. 25, 1928, in Cleveland, the son of the late A.J. and Charlotte Martin Grossman.
He was a member of Mount Perry United Methodist Church and the Somerset Masonic Lodge #76 F&AM. He was a U.S. Army Airborne Paratrooper, a self-employed structural engineer and a member of the Mentor Ohio Rotary. Charles was an avid fisherman and was good with his hand, always loving to build things.
He is survived by a daughter, Cheryl A. Blore of Eastlake; son, Ed Grossman of Mount Perry; two grandsons, Jonathon and Anthony; and granddaughter, Lesa.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda L. Grossman in 2011; son, Robert Grossman; four brothers, Bob, Jack, Bill and infant, Al Grossman; and a sister, Nancy Irish.
Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at the Somerset United Methodist Church, 139 E. Main St., Somerset, where Masonic services will be held at 3 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday at the church with the Rev. Michael Queen officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Somerset American Legion Leo Ryan Post 58. A caring cremation will follow.
