Christine Shaefer

Christine M. Shaefer, 53, passed away March 23, 2013, with her family by her side.
Chris was a 1978 graduate of Villa Angela High School. She graduated from Bowling Green University with a degree in education, and went on to earn her Master's degree in administration from Cleveland State University.
She had taught in the Cleveland Public School System for 30 years. She was a teacher at H.G. Bell School, an assistant principal at Orchard School and for the past 14 years, the principal at Clara E. Westropp School. The family wishes to thank the administrators, staff and all the students (current and alumni) for the outreach of love and support she had received during her illness.
Chris was the loving mother of Emily, Hannah, and Zach; cherished grandmother of Lilly; beloved daughter of Joanne M. (nee Cassidy) Oberst; and devoted sister of Eugene R. (Mary Clare) Oberst. She is also survived by her nephew, Geneo.
She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene H. Oberst.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Jakubs and Son, a Golden Rule Funeral Home, 936 E. 185th St., Cleveland.
Memorial Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, at Our Lady of the Lake Parish (please meet at the church), Lakeshore Blvd. and E. 200th St., Euclid.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Christine M. Shaefer Memorial Library Fund at any Key Bank location.
