Clinton P. Hanson, 83, of Euclid, passed away Dec, 14, 2013, at Hospice House.
He was born Sept. 13, 1930, in Cleveland and was a resident of Euclid after moving from South Euclid in 1961.
Clinton was a U.S. Army
veteran and a member of Nottingham Baptist Church for more than 20 years. A graduate of Brush High School, Clinton worked as the maintenance supervisor of roads and bridges for Cuyahoga County. In his free time he played golf with the Cleveland Industrial Golf League (CIGL). His family will remember him as a conscientious, generous, faithful man who was a good teacher and had a great sense of humor.
Survivors are his wife of 58 years, Patricia M. (nee Bertnett); son, Randy G. (Mary Jo) of Mentor; daughter, Holly J. of Willoughby; grandchildren, Hanna and Hayden; brothers, Ronald F. (Donna) and Dale R. of Lyndhurst. He was also the dear uncle and great-uncle of many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred J. and Linnea D. (nee Nelson).
Celebration of Life Service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec, 19, 2013, at Nottingham Baptist Church, 2921 Bishop Road, Wickliffe. Pastor David Chapman will officiate. Burial will follow at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens.
Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Clinton from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Dejohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of WIlloughby Hills, 28890 Chardon Road (between Bishop Road and Route 91).
Family suggests contributions may be be made in Clinton's memory to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland.
