Services for Dewey "Eddie" Lansberry, 90, of Kirtland, will be 1 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby.
Mr. Lansberry passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013, at his home.
Born May 13, 1922, in Pierce, W.Va., he had lived in Lake County for the past 46 years.
He was a World War II
veteran, and enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, tinkering, building minibikes and bicycles, and was also a former volunteer at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights.
Mr. Lansberry was employed as a stationary engineer at the former Towmotor Corporation in Mentor. He retired in 1985.
Survivors are his wife of 38 years, Anna (Armstrong) Lansberry; children, Joan Lansberry, Alexandria Hurley, Dewey R. Lansberry, Della (Matt Lane) Lansberry and Ralph (Tina) Lansberry; stepchildren, David (Andrea) Adams, Robert (Georgia) Adams, Fred (Lisabeth) Adams and William (Martha) Adams; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Lorene (James) Sturm, Barbara Lansberry and Sharon (Larry) Idleman. He also leaves his daughters-in-law, Sandy Adams and Judy Adams; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Twana J. Lansberry; stepsons, H. Michael and Jack D. Adams; and sister, Rebecca Helmick.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at the funeral home. Final resting place will be in South Kirtland Cemetery.
