Donald ""Joe"" Wilson, 83, of Mentor, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Mentor Way Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Jan. 23, 1930, in Norton, Va., to Jasper and Maggie Wilson.
Mr. Wilson enjoyed traveling, camping, deep-sea fishing and the Cleveland Indians, and loved to spend time with his family.
He worked for Euclid Road Machinery/GM until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Edna; children, Brenda Wirtanen of Madison, (Glenda) Sue Redmond of Denver, Colo., Connie (Mark) Rhodes of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Randy (Aimee) Wilson of Mentor; grandchildren, Chris, Sean, Jennifer, Lindsay, Katie, Ciara, Alexandria and Alyssa; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Esther Barber of Jonesville, Va.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at East Heisley Church of God, 5544 E. Heisley Road, Mentor. Pastor Hank Williams will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Interment will be in Mentor Cemetery.
