Dora Knierim, resident of Concord Township for the past 51 years and formerly of Willoughby, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at the age of 85. She was born Nov. 24, 1927, in Cleveland. Dora died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Knierim was a loving wife and mother, homemaker, bookkeeper, and caregiver.
Dora was a 50 year member of the Mentor Christian Church in Mentor. She enjoyed baking, traveling, reading, volunteering and being around children. She was a graduate of Willoughby Union High School Class of 1945.
Survivors include: her husband of 62 years, James Knierim; son, Jeffrey (Tracey) Knierim of Auburn Township; and adopted family, Claudia Barbian, Cassandra Alger, Caitlyn Alger and Alex Alger.
Preceding Dora in death are her parents, Ernest and Eva Deavers; and her sister, Gloria Deavers.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060.
Interment will be at the Mentor Cemetery in Mentor.
