Dorothy S. (nee Rathman) Fletcher, age 99, of Burton, a homemaker, died April 17, 2014, at UHHS Geauga Regional Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 14, 1914, in Reading, Pa., to Irvin and Edith (nee Meinholz) Rathman, she had been a longtime area resident.
She was a charter member of St. Helen Church in Newbury. Dorothy enjoyed knitting, cooking and making baby afghans for the Christ Child Society; but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan (David) Fuller of Burton; sons, James (Mary) of Pittsburgh, Pa., Thomas of Columbus, William (Maureen) of Strongsville and Charles of Burton; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Fletcher; five sisters; and three brothers.
Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at St. Helen Catholic Church, 12060 Kinsman Road, Newbury, OH 44065. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street (On Rt. 44, 500' south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon.
