Dwynwen "Rusty" (Benjamin) Griffis(1925-2014)

Dwynwen "Rusty" (Benjamin) Griffis, 88, passed away Jan. 17, 2014, at Gateway Health Center in Euclid.
Born April 21, 1925, in Wales, she came to the United States when she was three. Dwynwen was raised in Cleveland, until she married and settled in Euclid. After her husband Richard died, she moved to Mentor.
Dwynwen worked at May Company until she had her first child. She then became a homemaker.
Dwynwen loved music and family. She was a member of Willoughby United Methodist Church, the Mentor Senior Center for many years, and an active member and former officer of the Welsh Club.
Survivors include her children, Kathy (Richard) Cesa, David Griffis, Shirley Zimmer, Tom (Diane), Laura (Bruce) Baron and Amy (Bob Legan) Griffis; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and niece, Diane Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; son-in-law, Dan Zimmer; parents, Richard and Annie (nee Evans); and brothers, William and John Idris (Josephine) Benjamin.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at Brickman Bros. Funeral Home, 37433 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg.
