Frank Vincent Marconi, age 90, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014, at his son's residence in Mentor.
He was born Jan. 30, 1924, in Cleveland, and a Lake County resident for 51 years residing in Mentor-on-the-Lake.
Frank was a member of St. John Vianney Church in Mentor. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army
serving in World War II
, longtime member and former Vice President of Avanti Amerita Lodge 133 of the Italian Sons and Daughters of America, and a retired block truck driver. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren. His family was his life.
Mr. Marconi was the loving father of Nicholas J. (Angela) Marconi of Mentor, Frank L. Marconi of Willoughby, Carlotta M. (Dave) McCallister of Perry, Dominic J. Marconi of Eastlake, Mario Marconi (Robin Haffa) of Mentor-on-the-Lake, and Joseph Marconi of Mentor-on-the-Lake. He was the cherished grandfather of 11; great-grandfather of nine; and uncle of nieces and nephews.
Frank was the beloved husband of the late Sylvia Jane (nee Corsetti) Marconi, who passed away 2009; son of the late Nicola and Carmela (nee Fote) Marconi; and brother of the late Frances Delciappo, Dominic Marconi, Joseph Marconi, and Gracie Carnabucci.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center Street (Rt. 615, N. of Rt. 2), Mentor.
Funeral Mass will be 12 noon, Wednesday, at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor. Fr. Tom Johns will officiate the services. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
