Fred T. Bower, 88, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Precious Care Assisted Living Facility in Concord.
He was born April 9, 1926, in Irwin, Pa., where he lived until he moved to Mentor and resided for over 60 years.
Fred was a Technician in the engine lab at Lubrizol Corporation for 32 years until his retirement in 1984.
He was a member of Mentor United Methodist Church, Mentor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, water skiing and roller skating.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Patricia (Nelson) Bower; daughters, Joan E. Thompson of Eastlake, Karen S. Bower of Columbus, and Laura A. Bower of Willowick; grandchildren, Carrie E. Thompson, Jennifer L. (John) Arthur, Patricia E. Spooner; and brothers, James (Jean) Bower of Madison, Pa., and Ivan (Inez) Bower of Clayton, Georgia.
Preceding Fred in death are his parents, Earl and Florence Bower; and brothers, Seth, Carl, Donald and David Bower.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060.
The family will receive friends between 10 and 11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the memorial service.
Private inurnment will be in Mentor Cemetery.
