Geza M. Vamos(1924-2014)

Funeral services for Geza M. Vamos, 89, of Cleveland, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb., 8, 2014, at Our Lady of Peace Church in Cleveland. The Rev. Gary D. Chmura will officiate. Private burial will be in Knollwood Cemetery and Mausoleum at a later date.
Mr. Vamos passed away Feb. 4, 2014, at Western Reserve Masonic Community in Medina.
Born June 28, 1924, in Zenta, Hungary, he had been a Cleveland resident since 1960.
Mr. Vamos had been employed at Austin Co. for 30 years and Ohio Desk for 10 years in interior design. He had also worked for Oakwood Country Club as a groundskeeper and Davy McKee Draftsman as an interior designer.
Geza had been a member of Our Lady of Peace Church and co-founder of Fairwood Community Association and Auxiliary Police. He enjoyed the Cleveland Orchestra, gardening and biking.
Survivors are his wife, Hilda (nee Szava); children, Geza John, Leslie (Karen), and Kathy (Mike) Zelinko; grandchildren, Rose (Aaron) Sanders, Kristina and Audrey Vamos, and Matthew and Meredith Zelinko; and great-grandchildren, Dylan and Lily Sanders.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at Maher-Melbourne Funeral Home in South Euclid.
