Hayward Ryan, 85, passed away May 8, 2013, in Cleveland.
Born May 14, 1927, in Belington, W.Va., he had been a Willowick resident for the past 50 years.
Mr. Ryan was a World War II Army
veteran who retired from the Local 55 Plumber's Union in 1989, after 40 years of service (employed by Glickman). He was a member of American Legion Post 678, and enjoyed golfing, bowling, billiards and spending time with family and friends. Hayward will be missed by all.
Survivors are his beloved wife of 65 years, Alice; children, Kathy (Ed) Oblak, Alan (Ann) and Pat (Dan) Taylor; grandchildren, Erika Oblak, Kim (Kevin) Garvey, Kelsey (Zak) Taylor Weil and Justin Taylor; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Cailyn Garvey; brother, Glen; and sister-in-law, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Stanley, Thelma (Robert) Lasher and Leonard.
A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, at Jack Monreal-Laumer Funeral Home, corner of E. 320th and Vine streets, Willowick.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 13, at the funeral home. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery.www.jackmonreal.com
