Helen Drabin, 91, of Mentor, passed away Aug. 26, 2013, at Lake Health West Medical Center in Willoughby.
She was born July 24, 1922, in Cleveland, to Stanislaw and Zofie Serafin.
Mrs. Drabin loved to be with her family and numerous friends, and watching her great-grandchildren play. She also loved to do word search puzzles and listen to polkas.
Survivors include her children, Sheri (Marty Epstein) Drabin of Louisville, Ky., and Darlene (David) Zgonc of Mentor; grandchildren, Kimberly (Mark) Price of Medfield, Mass., and Chad (Krissy nee: Stika) Zgonc of Concord Township; great-grandchildren, Adam, Olivia, Jacleyn and Meggie; sisters, Stella Campbell of Garfield Heights and Mary Smierciak of Maple Heights; and special friend, Violet Prince of Parma.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; and brother, Joseph Serafin.
Celebration of Life will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the reception center on the Brunner Campus, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to her favorite charity, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for Research of Multiple Myeloma, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215.
A special thanks to friends and the staff at Governor's Port for making her last months like heaven on earth.
