James ""Jim"" Cobb passed suddenly Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at his home in Willoughby Hills.
Jim was born Sept. 7, 1943, to the late George and Alice (nee Petrick) Cobb.
He was a proud graduate of Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, Ga., where he excelled in both academics and gymnastics. Jim met his wonderful bride of 49 years, Geraldine ""Geri"" in Cleveland, and they were married Feb. 22, 1964.
After many different occupations, including steel worker and salesman, Jim founded Ground Air Transfer of Cleveland in 1976. Jim worked tirelessly building Ground Air into a successful logistics provider for the automotive industry until his retirement in 2008. After retirement, Jim loved spending time in Northern Michigan fishing, hiking and telling stories. He also enjoyed spending his winters in Gulf Shores, Ala., with his wife.
Jim is survived by his wife, Geri (nee Richardson); sons, Brian, Christopher (Trudi) and Gordon; daughter, Samantha (Jon) Weiner; grandchildren, James and Emily; and sister-in-law, Judy Cobb.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother, George William Cobb.
