James R. Jerele

James R. Jerele, 94, of Chardon, passed away March 1, 2014 at Chardon Healthcare Center in Chardon.
He was born November 5, 1919, in Cleveland.
Mr. Jerele was a World War II United States Marine Corp Veteran of Iwo Jima, 3rd Marine Division. He also was a former owner operator of The Rathskeller, in Cleveland, former partner of Yankovic's Steak House, in Cleveland, and a former bar manager at Executive Caterer's at Landerhaven.
He is survived by his sons; James B. (Ginny) and Thomas R. Sr.; daughter, Barbara Ann; grandchildren, Holly, Kimberly, Laura and Thomas R. Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Jayne, Luke, Audrey, Claire and Olivia. Also, survived by Sheryl Brace, whom Jim helped raise.
Preceded in death is his wife, Margaret (nee Ahlin); and siblings, Antoinette D'Amato and Albert Jerele.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Brickman Bros. Funeral Home, 37433 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be in Knollwood Cemetery in Mayfield Heights.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2014, at St. Gabriel Church, 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Rd, Concord, Ohio 44077.
