John Mylant(1932-2014)

John Mylant was called home to be with Jesus and his son, Rich on Feb. 15, 2014.
Born June 30, 1932, in Jerome, Pa., John attended St. Aloysius Grade School and attended his last class reunion with his friends on July 31, 2013. He graduated from Benedictine High School and attended Western Reserve University.
John served in the U.S. Navy as an engineman aboard the submarine U.S.S. Sirago. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 678, and the VFW 3863, and was a Knight of Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine in Euclid.
John was employed by Ohio Bell and retired with 35 years of service in 1991. He had an avid love of golf and fishing with his buddy Hap, and spent the rest of his time working in the garden. In recent years, he loved traveling to Arizona where he made many friends.
John is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol (nee Dickard); four children, Debbie (Mike) Komyati of Eastlake, John (Christine) of Colorado Springs, Colo., Joseph (Wanda) of Willowick and Ronald of Willowick; sister, Florence Novak of Parma; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son and best friend, Rich Mylant; parents, Joseph and Ann; brothers, Joe and Paul; sister, Annamarie Boothe; nephew, Joey Quirarte; and his beloved pets, Candy and Shelby.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Monreal Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at Ss. Robert and William Church on 260th Street in Euclid. (Please meet at the church.)
After Mass, there will be a Celebration of John's Life at the Kirtlander Party Center, 9720 Chillicothe Road (Route 306), Kirtland.
