Joseph R. Konchan, 96, of Willoughby and previously of Collinwood, went to be with the Lord at the Mansion Aug. 28, 2013, at Salida Woods in Mentor.
He was born Aug. 28, 1917, in Cleveland.
Mr. Konchan was a graduate of Collinwood High School, affiliated with Collinwood Memories and an active member of Collinwood Christian Church and Lakeshore Christian Church.
Joe loved to golf until he was 88. He loved to watch sports: Ohio State, the Browns and the Indians, enjoyed traveling with family and going to the Mohican Lodge. He was a proud Slovenian and a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Prior to retirement, he had been employed as an inspector for Gould of Cleveland.
Survivors are his daughters, Kathy (David) Allen and Linda (Bob) Bals; grandchildren, Linda and Joe (Kathleen) Allen, Dave (Cheryl) and Bob (Kristen) Bals; great-grandchildren, Alex, Samantha, Joshua, Isabella, Maddie, Alison, Katie, Nora, Tess, Mia and Eli; and nephew, Brian (Jeri) Futo.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Anna Jane (Tomba); parents, Joseph and Josephine Konchan; and sister, Josephine (George) Futo.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at Monreal Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake, with services to immediately follow at noon. Burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Township.
