Services for Joyce J. Steffen, 78, of Mentor, will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby. The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Peter Kovacina of St. John Vianney Catholic Church will officiate. Final resting place will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
Mrs. Steffen passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Mentor-Way Care Center.
Born May 9, 1934, in Cleveland, she was a longtime Lake County resident.
She served in the U.S. Army for two years. She enjoyed playing volleyball, cheerleading and music.
Mrs. Steffen was employed as an executive assistant.
Survivors are her children, Scott (Tamera) Ferry of Madison and Sandy Cubberley of Painesville; grandchildren, Jeremy Melton, Joshua Ferry, and Mandi, Heather, Jessica and Kaitlin Cubberley; great-grandchildren, Alex Smith, Tyler and Christopher Cubberley and Alina Strauss; sisters, Carole (David) Binnig of Texas and Penny (Dale) Riha of Hawaii; and brother, Jerry Myers of Streetsboro. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families.
Her husband, Joseph Steffen, passed away on Nov. 26, 1992. Her parents, Walter and Lucille (Patchin) Myers; sister, Shirley Olson; and brother, Jack Myers are also deceased.
